Eduardo Alberto Fox de la Mora serves as the Manager for the Corporate and Commercial and Trusts groups in Bermuda and for the global Latin American team. He was born in Mexico City and obtained his Certified Public Accounting post-graduate degree at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), in 1974.
Eduardo has had varied work experience in Mexico and Bermuda in the auditing, banking and marketing areas, including working with the Bank of Bermuda (now part of the HSBC Group) and Bacardi International. He has been with Appleby since 1991, starting in the capacity of Manager of the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group. His duties were expanded in April 1997, to also include the management of the Trusts Practice Group.
Eduardo has been involved with the Latin American team since its inception. He has participated in extensive business development exploration in major Latin American economies, such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Chile and Panama. He also serves as official advisor for Latin American Affairs to both the Government of Bermuda and the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association (BIMA). He was instrumental in bringing the Latin American Risk and Insurance Management Association's (ALARYS) Congress to Bermuda, the first time the conference had been held outside Latin America. Following that successful event in September 2004, he was nominated and appointed as ALARYS Vice President-Marketing and Diffusion. The ALARYS' congress was to be held in Bermuda, again, in the fall of 2009.
He is fluent in English and Spanish and possesses a working knowledge of Portuguese and Italian.
